Kyla Kinzler, M.A.

Director of Reading and Early Literacy Program
Assistant Professor of Education

Professor Kyla Kinzler absolutely loves teaching and shaping lives! From the moment a student walks into her class, she has a sense of calling to connect and support them on their life-long journey of learning. She's excited to be part of the SOE where future teachers are not only trained but encouraged to serve students and their families. Her interests center on Reading and Early Literacy Development, Trauma-informed practices, and Faith-integrated compassion. She has held a variety of elementary positions over the last 30 years - 6th grade teacher, Science specialist, Substitute teacher (day-to-day & long-term), Reading Intervention, and Teacher on Special Assignment for PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports) - and has so many stories and experiences that go with each of them.
