Public Safety
As guardians of the campus, the Department of Public Safety (DPS) provides the highest quality of public safety and supports ¹ú²ú¾çÂ鶹¾ç’s Mission by fostering a safe learning, working, and living environment. Our service to students, staff, faculty, and guests is an expression of our faith.
The Department of Public Safety operates 24 hours a day and is staffed by a Director, three Assistant Directors, 22 Public Safety Officers, and Student Dispatchers. All Public Safety Officers are licensed through the California Bureau of Security and Investigative Services and certified in CPR/First Aid. DPS derives its enforcement authority from the ¹ú²ú¾çÂ鶹¾ç Board of Trustees. The Point Loma Campus and its San Diego-area Regional Centers fall under the law enforcement jurisdiction of the San Diego Police Department.
